North American Pokemon fans will finally have a chance to build them all this summer. Mattel is releasing a line of Mega Construx sets featuring the likes of Pikachu and Charizard later this year.
In a press release, The Pokemon Company executive Colin Palmer praised the Mega Construx sets for their attention to detail and creativity. “Mega Construx brings the engaging world of Pokémon to life in one of the most popular play expressions for kids today," Palmer said. "We bring only the highest quality Pokémon experiences to our fans around the world and Mega Brands’ attention to detail and thoughtful creativity with Mega Construx is sure to delight kids as well as the most passionate Pokémon trainers.”
So far, only two Pokemon sets were officially announced: Pikachu and an evolving set with Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard. However, Mattel has released a series of Pokemon Mega Blox featuring dozens of different Pokemon in Japan, so we can expect some of those to be added to the mix in the future if the line proves successful.
WWG will report on new details about the new Mega Construx sets as they're released.
