The Pokemon Trading Card Game is about to get a little darker. The Pokemon fansite PokeBeach is reporting that the next trading card expansion will be called "Burning Shadows" and will feature a ton of powerful new Pokemon, including a brand new Charizard card.
The new "Burning Shadows" expansion will have over 140 cards, including 12 new GX cards, powerful Pokemon cards that can use a game-changing GX-move once per game. In addition to Charizard-GX, we'll also get Ho-Oh-GX, Machamp-GX, and Darkrai-GX, as well as GX cards featuring new Pokemon Necrozma and Tapu Fini. The expansion will also include six full art "Supporter" cards, featuring trainers from Pokemon Sun and Moon. Team Skull will also have some sort of presence in the Burning Shadows expansion, probably in the form of Trainer cards to impede opponents.
Burning Shadows follows on the footsteps of Guardians Rising, the first official expansion for the new Sun and Moon series of cards. Although the Japanese equivalent of Guardians Rising has been out for several months in Japan, the new expansion isn't due out in the United States and Europe until May. As for Burning Shadows, US Pokemon fans can expect the second expansion to arrive in stores in early August.
