Two new sets of Pokemon-themed snow globes are coming to Japan. The Japanese website Rakuten is now accepting preorders for special snow globes featuring Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle, with a planned ship date of July. Each snowglobe features a Pokemon playing with a PokeBall and rests on a specially-designed base. Charmander's base is made of flames, while Pikachu sits on what appears to be some sort of generator.
A second wave of snow globes is also planned featuring Eevee and its respective original evolved forms Flareon, Vaporeon, and Jolteon. The Eevee snow globes won't be available until August.
The snow globes are being released to celebrate the Pokemon anime's 20th anniversary this year, which explains why all the Pokemon captured in the snow globe are from the original games.
Each snow globe will cost around $20, but can only be shipped to Japanese customers. Pokemon fans who don't live in Japan will either need to search through the secondary market or wait and see if the snow globes eventually get imported to the United States.
