There are dozens of hilarious Dancing Pikachu videos out there, which typically depict a group of performers in Pikachu costumes doing a highly coordinated Pikachu dance. However, a new Dancing Pikachu video has gone viral for a totally different reason.
The video, which was taken at the Pokemon World Festival 2017 in South Korea, shows a group of Pikachu beginning one of their famous dances. However, one of the lead Pikachu's costume begins to deflate right as the dance begins. As Pikachu's head and body starts to distort, a small army of men in suits run in from the sidelines to drag the Pikachu away, ushering the Pikachu through the crowd of performers and off-stage.
Later in the video, the poor Pikachu tries to rejoin the dance, but she's quickly pulled away as it's obvious the costume isn't fully inflated.
So why did a half dozen men rush in to cart the Pikachu away? The popular theory is that the event's organizers didn't want children to freak out when they saw a beloved Pikachu wither away as if it had just drank from the wrong cup in Raiders of the Lost Ark. However, it's more likely that the deflated costume presented a safety concern to the dancer inside and that they just didn't want the poor person to suffocate on Pikachu skin. It's also possible that the men were members of Team Rocket and they just saw an easy opportunity to steal a Pikachu without much resistance.
You can watch the full video above and marvel at how the other Pikachu didn't bother to rescue their poor comrade with a Thundershock attack.
